How To Register For Jamb 2018: Steps to Create Profile and Get ePINS

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) have published the Registration process and steps for the registration of 2018Jamb UTME.

 

Notice: the registration has not started properly as it’s expected to commence on the 22nd of November, 2017.

 

However, you are to know the guidelines and procedures for registration to avoid mistakes and errors in payment processing.

 

JAMB REGISTRATION PROCEDURE AND PAYMENT PROCESS

 

  1. Use text to create jamb profile from your mobile phone (only one number per candidate)
  2. Receive confirmation code in your mobile phone
  3. Buy jamb ePIN form using the code sent to your phone
  4. Register with your ePIN at any CBT Centre

 

 

APPLICANTS PROFILE CREATION FROM THE COMFORT OF YOUR HOME USING MOBILE PHONES – TEXT (SMS):

 

  1. Applicants can send his/her names using this format: Surname, First Name & Middle Name. This should be between 38 characters in 2 spaces between names and a total of 40 characters in all and send it to the JAMB short code of 55019
  2. Applicants can only register using just one mobile number
  3. Upon successful sending of the text to the short code, Jamb will automatically send a 10 digit confirmation number, enabling the applicants to proceed to ePIN purchase.

 

IN CASE OF ANY MISTAKE OR LOSS DURING JAMB PROFILE CREATION:

 

  • Applicants can effect corrections on jamb profile information by resending a text message (from the initial registered mobile number) “CORRECT Surname First name Middle name” to 55019
  • Applicants can retrieve lost jamb confirmation code, by resending a text message (from the initial registered mobile number) “RESEND” to 55019

 

HOW TO PURCHASE JAMB ePIN (Participating Banks)

 

  • Mobile Money Operators including eTranzact (Paga, Cellulant, Teasy Mobile e.t.c.)
  • Registered Microfinance Banks – (Ifesowapo, Regent, FUDMFB, Welfare MFB)
  • Online Payment – Remita & Interswitch
  • POS (Citi-Serve)
  • ATM (Interswitch)
  • Unstructured Supplementary Service Data {USSD codes} (NIBSS & ERCAS) – for mobile (Internet/online) banking

 

JAMB PAYMENT THROUGH BANKS INCLUDING MICROFINANCE BANKS

 

  • Applicants are to Present their jamb confirmation code and pay by cash or ATM card
  • Jamb ePIN is usually delivered to the candidate’s initial mobile number used during jamb profile creation

 

JAMB PAYMENT THROUGH POS (CITI-SERVE)

 

This service is available at the State Offices of Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and Computer Based Test (CBT) Centres, Other jamb Point of Sell (POS) Outlets and any Computer Based Test (CBT) Centre that demands it.

 

  • Applicants are to Present their jamb confirmation code and pay by cash or ATM card
  • Jamb ePIN is usually delivered to the candidate’s initial mobile number used during jamb profile creation

 

JAMB PAYMENT THROUGH MOBILE MONEY OPERATORS INCLUDING eTranzact

 

This service is available at Computer Based Test (CBT) Centres and other outlet

 

  • Applicants are to Present their jamb confirmation code and pay by cash or ATM card
  • Jamb ePIN is usually delivered to the candidate’s initial mobile number used during jamb profile creation

 

JAMB PAYMENT USING ATM CARD

 

This service is available at all ATM stands of all participating Banks (using Interswitch). Follow the under listed procedure;

 

  • Applicants must Select Bill Payment and click JAMB
  • Applicants must enter jamb confirmation code and select pay.
  • Jamb ePIN is then delivered to the candidate’s initial mobile phone used during registration.

 

ONLINE JAMB PAYMENTS USING REMITA / INTERSWITCH

 

  • Applicants should Login to the JAMB website: jamb.gov.ng
  • Click the Registration page and enter confirmation Code
  • Select a payment Method either through Interswitch or Remita and Make payment
  • Jamb ePIN is then delivered to the phone number used during jamb profile creation.

 

JAMB PAYMENTS USING Unstructured Supplementary Service Data {USSD} (NIBSS / ERCAS)

 

  • Dial this USSD code (e.g. *565*6#) and enter your confirmation code
  • Kindly Select bank and follow the command prompts to complete payment.
  • Jamb ePIN is then delivered to the phone number used during jamb profile creation.

 

JAMB SELF HELP PAYMENT RECOVERY

 

Applicants, who didn’t receive their jamb ePIN or lost it, can send a text message from the phone number used during jamb profile creation using this format “UTMEPIN” (For UTME applicants only) or “DEPIN”  (For Direct Entry candidates only) to 55019 for Jamb UTME or Jamb DE respectively. Jamb ePIN would then be retrieved

 

NEXT STEP TO FOLLOW AFTER PAYMENT….

 

Applicants, who successful completed their payment and obtained the Jamb ePIN should proceed to any of the accredited Computer Based Test (CBT) Centres to complete their registration.

 

JAMB 2018 REGISTRATION PROCESS at Computer Based Test Centres

 

Applicants are to present the ePIN at any JAMB accredited Computer Based Test Centre for validation and completion of registration.

Notice: Applicants are not expected to pay more than N700.00 as Service Charge at the Computer Based Test Centre.

 

Applicants are advised to provide the following information for onward jamb registration, information needed is listed below;

 

  • Biodata: complete name information, Date of birth and address etc
  • Applicants Choice of institutions and choice course of study.
  • Jamb UTME subjects to be written by the applicants. Applicant must choose the subjects based on choice course of study.
  • Clear Picture capture (Notice: No passport photography)
  • Applicants Biometric capture ( Fingers)
  • Print Registration Slip using biometric authentication
  • Collect jamb reading text and jamb CD
